PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION POLICY

  1. Purpose: This Policy sets out the manner in which we may collect, use, disclose or otherwise process personal data. "Personal data" means any information that can identify an individual or information about an identifiable individual, for example, his name and personal contact information such as his home address, personal phone number or personal email address. It does not include an individual’s business contact information ("BCI") not provided by him solely for personal purposes. Your continued or subsequent access to or use of Our Materials shall be deemed to be your acknowledgement that you have read and understood this Policy, and consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data by us for the purposes set out in this Policy. This Policy meets the requirements of Singapore’s personal data protection law. From time to time, we may update this Policy to ensure that it is consistent with any changes in applicable law. You should thus periodically review this Policy.
  2. Collection and use of your personal data: We may collect personal data in order to carry out our activities and operations, and to enable you to access and use Our Materials. We may also use your personal data to inform you of our products or services. We may disclose your personal data to third-party service providers that we engage to help us to carry out our activities and operations, including performing statistical analysis. For example, if you make payment using your personal credit card, your credit card information will be transmitted to the relevant credit card company and/or credit card payment processing company. The personal data that we may collect comes from you when you register for a single user membership account, or from the organisation that you work for when it registers for a group membership account with you as one of its users. We assume and your organisation is deemed to represent and undertake to us that it has obtained your consent to the disclosure to us and use by us for the purposes set out in this Policy of your personal data. However, we expect that you and the organisation that you work for will generally provide us with your BCI instead of your personal data. We do not require your personal data in order to provide Our Materials to you.
  3. Protection of your personal data: To safeguard your personal data from unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks, we have introduced appropriate administrative, physical and technical measures such as up-to-date antivirus protection, encryption and the use of privacy filters to secure all storage and transmission of personal data by us, and disclosing personal data both internally and to our authorised third-party service providers and agents only on a need-to-know basis. While we will try our best to protect your personal data, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure.
  4. Withdrawing your consent: You may withdraw your consent at any time by sending an email addressed for the attention of our Data Protection Officer. We will require a reasonable time to process your request (depending on the complexity of your request and its impact on our relationship with you). As a general rule, we aim to process your request within 10 business days of receipt. Please note that depending on your request, we may become unable to continue providing Our Materials to you. If this is the case, we will notify you before completing the processing of your request. Please note that withdrawing your consent does not affect our right to continue to collect, use and disclose your personal data where such collection, use and disclosure without consent is permitted or required under applicable law.
  5. Access to and correction of your personal data: We rely on you to ensure that your personal data is correct and up-to-date by signing into your account. If you have any enquiries or requests about your personal data, please send an email addressed for the attention of our Data Protection Officer.
  6. Retention of your personal data: We may retain your personal data for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required or permitted by applicable law. We will cease to retain your personal data, or remove the means by which the data can be associated with you, as soon as it is reasonable to assume that such retention no longer serves the purpose for which the personal data was collected, and is no longer necessary for legal or business purposes.
  7. Third-party websites: Our website may contain hyperlinks to third-party websites or web pages. The personal data protection and privacy policies of such third parties may be different. We are not responsible for the policies and practices of such third-party websites and you should review their personal data protection and privacy policies.
